DRACAENA SANDERIANA AKA LUCKY BAMBOO

Bamboo is one of the only plants that you cannot over water. Always keep the pot filled with water. Plants will drink less water in cooler months. Never let the plant dry out! They can be grown in low light to high light, the lower the light the slower the plant will grow. When feeding use 25% of the recommended dosage amount of liquid fertilizer once every 4 months. Wash leaves of dust and trim yellow older leaves away.

According to ancient Oriental folklore, Lucky Bamboo plants have been given as gifts to friends and loved ones during times of celebrations. A wedding, a birth, a birthday, a house-warming, a new business endeavor or just an expression of wishing someone Good Fortune, are all perfect times to give gifts of Lucky Bamboo. If you want to keep your Lucky Bamboo at home, place it on the east side of your living room as you face the front of the door. This helps ensure that only good "Chi" or positive energy, shall enter the home. Soon a new feeling of balance and positive energy will fill the room. Lucky Bamboo is perhaps the Perfect Indoor plant because it can be kept in low-light situations, any place you could never keep a plant alive due to lack of light, and it loves to be in fresh water all the way to the top of the container. We have had them in our bedroom and bathrooms for years and never had any trouble with them and these areas get no light. Direct sunlight and lack of  water will burn the leaves of Lucky Bamboo. It is a great houseplant that is very forgiving for those who sometimes forget them.

PLANT PROBLEMS

spider mites- They are very tiny bugs that make small webs. Spray the plant with an insecticide that specifically kills mites

mealy bugs- They are very tiny bugs that look like small cotton balls. Spray the plant with an insecticide soap that specifically kills mealy bugs.

Both will suck the juice from plants and cause eventual death. More than one treatment may be required read label instructions. Before treatment trim away any yellow leaves.
